Laser Inscribed Diamonds
Many of our diamonds are laser inscribed with their certificate number on the girdle. This serves as a unique identifier for your diamond. These laser inscriptions are usually not visible to the naked eye, but they provide you with an extra sense of protection and peace of mind because the laser inscription uniquely identifies your diamond. If your diamond ever leaves your possession (cleaning, resizing, theft), you can be sure the diamond that is returned to you is the same one you started with! The descriptions on our Web site indicate whether the diamonds are inscribed or not.
If your diamond has not already been inscribed, this service is available for an additional charge of $75. This charge is for the inscription on your diamond and does not update the gem’s grading certificate. If you would like your certificate updating, another inspection must be arranged. There is a $100 charge for regarding the diamond to update the certificate with your inscription information. Only GIA and AGS certified diamonds can be re-certified in this way. Inscribing your diamond takes four business days, while recertifying the diamond takes an additional ten business days.
